The Book.

Written primarily for Christians and others who say they believe in God, My Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Hell cleverly challenges the seriousness of one’s stated belief.  Most believers realize God has a will and many express a sincere desire to fulfill it.  But the Bible clearly teaches that Satan also has a will, and Satan goes about setting traps to take captive to his will those who fail to escape from his devices. (2 Timothy 2:26).  L.D. Here is an excerpt from the Introduction:

In the only scripture I will quote at length (because I hate all scripture, as you will see), Paul cleverly slides in a truth unappreciated by most people, if not all, including Christians. In Second Timothy 2:26, Paul speaks of those he considers “misguided” merely because they provoke quarrels. (And this, mind you, from Paul, the provoker of quarrels of words leading to stonings, beatings, and riots.) Paul writes that he hopes these quarrelers “will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”

A trap? Taken captive to do his will? Well, yes. But Paul makes it sound so negative! Yes, I have a will. And I do seek to take captives. But “trap” is a little strong. What I do now is merely provide people an opportunity to do what they already want to do. How is that a trap? Just because I was cleverly successful in injecting sin into the world so that all men are by nature sinners, am I to now be blamed for setting a trap? I reject the notion.

But I admit—I do indeed have a will. And my will is not mysterious. I don’t hide my will from anyone. My will is easy. Again, my yoke really is easy, and my burden really is light. Very few will consider you odd for doing my will. Your neighbors, friends and coworkers will likely love you if you do my will. You will not stand out as odd, you can “go with the flow,” and you can blend in with society if you do my will. I ask very little, really.

This book sets forth seven of the most important rules of my kingdom. If you keep each of these commandments, so to speak, you will be my good and faithful servant. One of my great delights is in seeing everyone, even so-called Christians, faithfully adhering to all my commands—many without even realizing it. Is that a trap? Am I to blame? Captive? Maybe so, but only because most people insist on voluntary confinement.
